**Chennai, India:** Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has hailed Jasprit Bumrah as a bowler without any weaknesses after his impressive performance on Day 2 of the Chennai Test against Bangladesh. Bumrah’s 4-wicket haul for 50 runs played a crucial role in dismissing Bangladesh for a paltry 149, giving India a commanding first-innings lead of 227 runs.

Manjrekar, commenting on ESPNcricinfo, praised Bumrah’s ability to adapt to any conditions and outthink the opposition, calling him one of the sharpest fast bowlers in the game. He highlighted Bumrah’s relentless accuracy, pace, and variations, stating that he is “a bowler without a weakness – whatever the opposition, pitch conditions, and that’s actually the best way to judge greatness.”

The second day of the Test saw a dramatic turn of events with 17 wickets falling. Bumrah, however, stood out with his brilliant performance, dismantling Bangladesh’s lower-middle order. His accurate deliveries and relentless pace stifled the visitors, who were reduced to a dismal 26-3 at lunch and never recovered.

While Shakib al Hasan (32) and Litton Das (22) offered some resistance, India’s dominance was undeniable. Spinners Ravindra Jadeja (2-19) and Akash Deep (2-19) provided excellent support, with Jadeja taking crucial wickets of Das and Shakib in quick succession. Bangladesh eventually folded for 149, with only Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 27 offering any fight.

“Is there anything more left to say about Bumrah as a champion bowler?” Manjrekar later wrote on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing, “Well, I realised today that he is a bowler with just strengths, zero weakness. Guess, that’s the ultimate yardstick for greatness.”

India, having reached 81 for 3 at stumps, extended their lead to a commanding 308 runs. With Shubman Gill (33*) and Rishabh Pant (12*) unbeaten, India opted against enforcing the follow-on.

Bumrah’s relentless form, coupled with India’s impressive all-round bowling effort, has put them firmly in control of the first Test. Bangladesh now faces an uphill battle to avoid a heavy defeat in the opening encounter of the series.
