Fri Sep 20 05:14:17 UTC 2024: ## Everton’s Dire Start: Dyche Under Pressure Amidst Financial Uncertainty

Everton, currently sitting bottom of the Premier League with no points after four losses, are facing their worst start to a season in 66 years. The club’s director of football, Kevin Thelwell, acknowledged the challenging circumstances facing manager Sean Dyche, who is working under immense pressure to turn the team’s fortunes around.

“Sean and I work very closely together… Sean has a responsibility for the preparation and performance of the team and fundamentally the results,” said Thelwell, adding that “He [Dyche] is working under very difficult circumstances.”

Thelwell highlighted the complex financial situation at Everton, with ongoing negotiations for a potential takeover by American businessman John Textor following previous failed attempts. This, he explained, makes it difficult to provide the manager with the necessary resources to strengthen the team.

Despite the grim start, club sources have confirmed that Dyche’s position is currently secure. However, the pressure is mounting as Everton continue to struggle with their performances and face an uphill battle for survival.

Adding to the challenges, Everton’s star centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who was a key player last season, has been sidelined due to surgery, further impacting their defensive stability.

Thelwell assured fans that the club is working tirelessly to address the issues and urged them to stay patient. “We are all feeling the pain that they are feeling but we need to stay calm… We only get through this if we stick together,” he stated.

Everton’s upcoming fixtures against Leicester, Crystal Palace and Ipswich will be crucial in determining whether they can begin to turn things around and climb out of the relegation zone.
