**Kathmandu, September 20, 2024:** President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, as acting Prime Minister during Prime Minister KP Oli’s absence.
PM Oli departed for New York today to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly. President Paudel, on the Prime Minister’s recommendation and in accordance with the Nepali Constitution, designated DPM Singh to oversee the daily administrative functions of the Prime Minister’s office.
This temporary arrangement ensures a smooth transition of power while PM Oli is abroad. DPM Singh will assume the Prime Minister’s responsibilities until PM Oli returns from the UNGA.
