**IRVINE, Calif.** – A 23-year-old woman, Alexis Lorenze, is recovering after experiencing severe adverse reactions to vaccines she received at UCI Medical Center in Orange, California. Lorenze, who suffers from a rare and life-threatening blood disorder known as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), was required to receive multiple vaccines as a condition for continued treatment.
Lorenze, who had previously avoided vaccines for religious reasons, says she began experiencing extreme reactions within minutes of receiving the vaccinations for meningitis, pneumonia, and tetanus. These reactions included vision loss, severe internal bleeding, and painful purple patches spreading across her body.
Her family claims that hospital staff delayed treatment for her adverse reaction, further exacerbating her suffering.
“I’m beyond scared, and everything in my body hurts,” Lorenze tearfully shared in her viral TikTok videos, where she documented her ordeal.
Lorenze has authorized UCI Medical Center to release her medical records and discuss her case with FOX 11, but the hospital has not responded to repeated requests for comment.
The incident raises concerns about the potential risks associated with vaccinations and the importance of timely medical intervention for adverse reactions. The incident also highlights the complex ethical dilemmas faced by patients who are required to undergo medical treatments that conflict with their personal beliefs.
