**Tirupati, India** – Devotees at the famed Tirumala temple have expressed outrage and demanded action against those responsible for allegedly using animal fat in the production of the iconic Tirupati Laddu.
A devotee, speaking to PTI, alleged that the Jagan government had compromised the quality of the laddus. The opposition TDP has accused the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), the governing body of the temple, of using beef tallow, fish oil, and palm oil in the laddu preparation.
While lab reports reportedly confirm these claims, there has been no official confirmation from the Andhra Pradesh government or the TTD.
“They have done a terrible job in recent years,” said a devotee. “The prasadam offered to the Lord contains meat products and animal oil, according to the lab reports. I am glad that Chandrababu Naidu’s government is taking action after getting the lab reports.”
However, another devotee, Abhijeet, stated that the laddu quality had improved since the change in government. “I have been visiting for 10 years,” he said. “The laddu was good initially, but the taste went down slightly in the last three to four years. Today, the laddu is much tastier, and the ghee quality is excellent.”
The controversy has sparked widespread anger among devotees, with many calling for a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible for the alleged adulteration.
