**Chennai, September 20, 2024:** India tightened its grip on the first Test against Bangladesh, taking a commanding lead of 308 runs at the end of day two at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
India, resuming their first innings at 339/6, added a further 37 runs before being bowled out for 376. Ravichandran Ashwin, with a century (113), and Ravindra Jadeja (86) were the architects of a crucial 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
