**New Delhi, September 20, 2024:** The Delhi Theatre Festival (DTH) is back for its fifth season, promising a vibrant experience of theatrical diversity. From September 20th to 22nd, renowned actors like Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Lillete Dubey, and Vinay Pathak will grace the stage at various venues across Delhi and Gurugram.
The festival kicks off with “Old World,” an adaptation of Aleksei Arbuzov’s work, featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. Shabana Azmi makes her return to the Delhi stage with “Broken Images,” a play by Girish Karnad where she portrays two sisters whose identities intertwine.
Other highlights include “Salaam Noni Appa,” a play based on Twinkle Khanna’s short story and directed by Lillete Dubey, who also plays the central role in this autumn romance. Dubey also directs “Jaya,” a rock ballad style retelling of the Mahabharata, while Ayeesha Menon’s “One On One Dhamaal” offers a comedic exploration of modern India through monologues. The festival concludes with Rajat Kapoor’s satirical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, “What’s Done is Done.”
