**Centurion, South Africa** – Afghanistan pulled off a stunning victory over South Africa in the third and final ODI at SuperSport Park on Wednesday, setting a new record for their highest ODI total against the Proteas.
The key to the victory was a blistering innings from Azmatullah Omarzai, who smashed 74 runs off 46 balls, including six sixes. Omarzai’s knock helped Afghanistan reach a formidable 304 runs, surpassing their previous best of 259 runs against South Africa in 2017.
Rahmat Shah also played a crucial role, scoring 50 runs off 63 balls to set the platform for Omarzai’s onslaught.
