Pop superstar Taylor Swift made a major fashion statement at the 2024 MTV VMAs, changing into a custom beaded minidress with a UFO design after arriving in a chic Dior ensemble. The striking Monse dress, featuring leather straps and a gathered skirt, paid homage to her hit song “Down Bad” from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
Swift previously explained the song’s lyrics on iHeartRadio, describing it as a story about a girl abducted by aliens who wants to stay with them. Fans immediately recognized the reference, dubbing the dress the “Down Bad” dress.
Swift arrived at the UBS Arena in New York wearing a yellow plaid bustier top, black velvet hot pants, and caged leather gloves, completing the look with dramatic glam and 30-carat Lorraine Schwartz earrings.
The singer is nominated for a whopping 10 awards at this year’s show, including best collaboration with Post Malone for “Fortnight” and artist of the year, both of which she won.
