Thu Sep 12 06:22:00 UTC 2024: ## Kerala Government Hands Over Full Hema Committee Report to SIT Investigating Malayalam Film Industry Abuse

**Thiruvananthapuram**: The Kerala government has handed over the complete Hema Committee report, including all audio and video evidence, to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing sexual and mental harassment in the Malayalam film industry. This comes after a Kerala High Court order and following revelations made by female actors.

The report, initially withheld due to privacy concerns, was handed over to the Crime Branch Chief, H. Venkatesh. The SIT is expected to meet today to discuss how to proceed with the new evidence and the next steps. This includes taking statements from individuals named in the report, including senior actors, directors, and producers.

The government is expected to take a firm stance in questioning the accused and collecting evidence. They will also be submitting a detailed report to the High Court on the case’s progress at the next hearing.

“We have statements and evidence already collected from various locations from the victims and witnesses,” a senior official involved in the investigation stated, “Further details cannot be revealed at this time.”

Members of the Women Collective in Cinema (WCC) are optimistic following a meeting with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. “The Chief Minister has listened to our grievances and has assured us of a fair probe,” said actress Revathy. “We are hopeful that things will move in the right direction.”

The WCC hopes the investigation will create a safer and more conducive environment for women artists in the Malayalam film industry.
