**LACONIA, NH** – Virginia “Gini” Ellen Vagts, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Sept. 4, 2024, at the age of 98. She was known for her warm smile, her love of fashion, and her adventurous spirit.
Born in Jackson Heights, New York, Vagts was a dedicated worker who held positions at Time Life Publishing and various secretarial roles before moving to Laconia in 1992. She continued to work in retail, her charm and fashion sense making her a natural in the industry.
Vagts was an avid reader and a longtime library patron. Her passion for travel saw her explore the United States, Canada, and extensively in Europe. She even fulfilled her dream of walking the Great Wall of China on her 80th birthday.
She is survived by her daughters Karin Albert and Laura McInerney, daughter-in-law Tammie Vagts, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Activities Department at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center or to the Laconia Public Library.
