The film is described as an “in-depth exploration of sexuality, of creativity, an unflinching stare at all the gory details of having a female body and a sensitive depiction of the emotional vocabulary of youth.”
Stewart, who co-wrote the screenplay with **Andy Mingo**, has been passionate about this project since 2018. In a January interview with Variety, she declared she wouldn’t make another film until “The Chronology of Water” was completed.
