**Los Angeles, CA** – Kristen Stewart, known for her acting roles, has achieved her ambition of directing her feature film debut “The Chronology of Water,” with production officially underway. The film, based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s acclaimed 2011 memoir, follows the protagonist’s journey of turning trauma into art.

Stewart co-wrote the screenplay with Andy Mingo, and the film boasts a star-studded cast including Imogen Poots as Lidia, Thora Birch, Earl Cave, Michael Epp, Susannah Flood, Kim Gordon and Jim Belushi. Filming took place over six weeks in Latvia and Malta this past June and July.

“The Chronology of Water” is described as an unflinching exploration of sexuality, creativity, and the complexities of being a woman. It delves into the protagonist’s emotional journey, from her childhood in the Pacific Northwest to her experiences with love, loss, and finding her voice as a writer.

Stewart, who previously directed three short films, has been vocal about her passion for this project. She had even taken a break from acting until this film was ready to be made.

The production of “The Chronology of Water” is a collaboration between several production companies, including CG Cinema International, Forma Pro Films, Scott Free, Nevermind Pictures, Curious Gremlin, Fremantle, Lorem Ipsum Entertainment, and Scala Films. WME Independent is handling North American sales, with Les Films du Losange overseeing international sales and French distribution.
