Metz, France – FC Metz put up a valiant fight against reigning French and European champions Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, ultimately falling short in a 2-3 defeat at Stade Saint-Symphorien. The match, the final league game of the calendar year for both teams, saw Metz struggle early but rally in the second half, creating several scoring opportunities.

PSG dominated possession from the start, with Metz goalkeeper Jonathan Fischer making a crucial save early on to deny Gonçalo Ramos.
