New York, NY – After years of fan demand, Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, is officially back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The hard-drinking, super-powered private investigator will be joining Matt Murdock (Daredevil) in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, slated to premiere on March 4, 2026.

The news, initially revealed at the Disney Upfronts on May 13, 2025, has sent waves of excitement through the Marvel fandom. Executive Producer Sana Amanat offered a glimpse into Jones’s return in a recent interview with Empire, stating that her involvement is “very personal” and will bring a much-needed edginess and humor to the often dark and dramatic world of Daredevil.

“She cuts through the BS in a really fun way,” Amanat said, hinting at the dynamic Ritter’s character will bring to the show.

While the exact number of episodes featuring Jones is still unknown, reports suggest she will have a significant arc throughout the eight-episode season. Filming for the season concluded on July 9, 2025.

The resurgence of Jessica Jones fuels speculation that other Defenders – Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – could also make appearances. While both actors have expressed interest, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm their involvement.

Jones was last seen in the third season of her self-titled Netflix series, which concluded in 2019. The ending of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, which saw Mayor Fisk outlaw vigilantes, has paved the way for a potential team-up of New York’s street-level heroes.
