Jharkhand Farmers to Receive Bonus on Paddy MSP

RANCHI, November 18, 2025 – Jharkhand farmers are set to receive a boost to their income this fiscal year with a bonus of ₹100 per quintal on paddy, in addition to the Centre’s Minimum Support Price (MSP), announced State Food and Public Distribution Minister Irfan Ansari today.

The bonus, which is in addition to the Central government’s MSP of ₹2,369 per quintal for common paddy and ₹2,389 per quintal for Grade-A paddy, is aimed at further financially strengthening farmers and freeing them from reliance on middlemen, according to the Minister. Farmers will also receive a one-time payment for the paddy purchased by the government.

“The Jharkhand government has prepared a proposal to pay an additional bonus of ₹100 on the MSP fixed by the Central government, which will be approved in the cabinet meeting very soon,” stated Minister Ansari in a press statement.

With paddy harvesting expected to conclude in the next 10-15 days, the state government has finalized the paddy procurement process, which is scheduled to commence by December 15, 2025.
