Haryana Voter Fraud Allegations Intensify Following Rahul Gandhi’s Claims
Ambala, Haryana – Renewed allegations of widespread voter fraud in Haryana, sparked by Rahul Gandhi’s claims of a “centralized operation” involving manipulated voter lists, continue to surface. NDTV has spoken to multiple voters who have identified discrepancies, including mismatched photos and names on voter IDs, fueling the controversy surrounding the integrity of the electoral process.
One such voter, 75-year-old Charanjit Kaur of Dhakola village, told NDTV that while she voted once in last year’s Assembly election, her photograph appeared on numerous other voter IDs under different names. Her son, Tejinder Singh, stated that he filed a complaint about the issue but no action was taken.
The investigation follows Gandhi’s presentation highlighting an instance where a photo of a Brazilian woman, Larissa Nery, was found on dozens of voter IDs under different names. Nery herself has confirmed the photo is hers, expressing shock at its misuse in the Indian electoral system.
Other voters have also come forward with similar stories, including a woman named Pinky who found another woman’s photo on her voter ID, though she still managed to vote using her Aadhaar card. In another instance, an entire family in Malikpur village was missing from the voter list altogether.
Gandhi alleges that these anomalies point to a deliberate and centralized voter fraud scheme, potentially impacting the outcome of the last election. The BJP has dismissed Gandhi’s claims, and the Election Commission has stated that the Congress party did not raise these objections during the official review process. Meanwhile, questions about the integrity of voter rolls and the potential disenfranchisement of legitimate voters remain.
