Mon Nov 03 15:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Blues Re-Acquire Defenseman Calle Rosen in Trade with Capitals
ST. LOUIS, MO – The St. Louis Blues bolstered their defensive depth today, announcing the acquisition of defenseman Calle Rosen from the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Corey Schueneman. The move also sees the Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, trade forward Sam Bitten to the Hershey Bears for future considerations.
Rosen, 31, is familiar with the Blues organization, having played 73 games with St. Louis between 2021 and 2024. He also has 108 games played with the Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. This season, the Swedish defenseman has seven points (one goal, six assists) in nine games with the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
“Calle brings experience and familiarity to our organization,” said Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong in a press release. “His previous time in St. Louis and Springfield makes for an easy integration.”
Rosen will report directly to the Springfield Thunderbirds. During his time with St. Louis, Rosen contributed 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) and a +16 rating. In Springfield, he added 61 points (6 goals, 55 assists).
The Thunderbirds also announced a trade, sending forward Sam Bitten to Hershey in exchange for future considerations.
