Erode, Tamil Nadu – November 1, 2025 (5:35 PM IST) – Two individuals sustained injuries after a pickup van carrying fish overturned near the Varattupallam viewpoint on the Bargur–Anthiyur road in Erode district late Friday night.
According to police reports, the van, transporting fish in plastic tanks from Mysuru to Thanjavur, overturned around 10:45 PM when the driver, identified as B. Azharuddin (25) of Thanjavur, lost control of the vehicle.
Azharuddin and passenger V. Aravind (31), also of Thanjavur, were injured and initially treated at the Government Hospital in Anthiyur before being transferred to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Perundurai for further care.
Authorities have confirmed that traffic flow was not impacted by the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
