Sat Oct 11 14:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Norway to Donate Ticket Proceeds to Gaza Amid Ceasefire, Welcomes Israeli Fans

**Oslo, Norway** – Ahead of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier between Norway and Israel, Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) President Lise Klaveness expressed her relief at the recently ratified ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and reiterated the federation’s plan to donate profits from ticket sales to Doctors Without Borders in Gaza.

The NFF’s decision, announced in August, had drawn criticism from the Israeli FA, who argued the funds should instead be used to condemn the October 7th attacks. However, Klaveness defended the donation, emphasizing the NFF’s concern for all affected by the conflict.

“Football is nothing compared to peace, and now the bombs can stop over Gaza, and that hostages can come home,” Klaveness stated, adding that football leaders should now focus on supporting the peace plan.

Klaveness also addressed concerns about the safety of Israeli fans attending the match, assuring them of a warm welcome. “Nothing that we say or state should ever be interpreted as directed towards them or that we don’t feel sympathy for what they’ve gone through with this horrific trauma of October 7th,” she said.

The NFF has worked closely with Oslo police to ensure security for the game.

Klaveness stated she is looking forward to meeting her Israeli counterpart before the match, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, especially during difficult times.

Norway currently leads Group I with 15 points, while Israel trails behind in third place.
