Fri Jun 20 18:58:39 UTC 2025: ## Trump Renews Baseless Election Fraud Claims Amidst Foreign Policy Tensions

**Washington D.C.** – As the White House grapples with critical foreign policy decisions regarding potential U.S. involvement in the escalating Israel-Iran conflict, former President Donald Trump has reignited his long-standing and unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump vehemently criticized President Biden’s handling of immigration and reiterated his assertion that he won the 2020 election by a “LANDSLIDE.”

“Biden was grossly incompetent, and the 2020 election was a total FRAUD!” Trump declared. “The evidence is MASSIVE and OVERWHELMING. A Special Prosecutor must be appointed. This cannot be allowed to happen again in the United States of America! Let the work begin!”

This renewed push comes amidst serious foreign policy considerations and is seen by many as part of an effort to undermine the legitimacy of President Biden’s presidency. Earlier this month, Trump directed his administration to investigate Biden, alleging a “cognitive decline” masked by his aides, a claim dismissed by Biden as a “distraction.”

Trump’s accusations have been repeatedly debunked by courts across the country, including those presided over by Trump-appointed judges, and by his own Attorney General during his first term. The Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity arm has also affirmed the 2020 election as “the most secure in American history.” Furthermore, the House January 6th committee’s final report concluded that Trump engaged in a “multi-part conspiracy” to overturn the election results and failed to stop the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.

The former President’s repeated false claims have resonated with his supporters and fueled distrust in government, amplified through social media.

While the specific scope of a potential special prosecutor’s investigation remains unclear, should one be appointed, they may face pressure to have already been confirmed by the Senate. A Department of Justice spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.

The Justice Department has a history of appointing special counsels, often from outside the agency, to oversee politically sensitive investigations. Notably, Trump’s legal team successfully challenged the appointment of Jack Smith, the special counsel investigating his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and his handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
