**Uttarakhand First to Link Private Schools to Digital Education Monitoring System**

**Dehradun, May 21, 2025:** In a significant move to enhance school education, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced today that private schools will be integrated into the state’s Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), a digital infrastructure ecosystem that tracks and analyzes student enrolment, attendance, academic performance, and teacher training. This initiative aims to provide administrators with comprehensive data to monitor school education progress effectively.

Uttarakhand is the first state in India to implement the Gujarat model of VSK. Currently, approximately 16,000 schools are already connected to the system. The Chief Minister stated his intention to connect all private schools in the state.

“By linking private schools to the VSK, we aim to create a unified platform for monitoring and improving education standards across the state,” said Dhami at a ceremony in Manduwala, Dehradun.

The state government is also undertaking other initiatives to improve the quality of education. These include the construction of 141 PM Shri schools and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools, establishing virtual classrooms in 500 schools across all 13 districts, and implementing NCERT books in all government schools.

Moreover, scholarships are being provided to meritorious students in Classes 6-12 in both government and private schools, and a program has been initiated to send high-achieving students on educational tours across India.

Recognizing the importance of sports, the state government will also provide government jobs to athletes who win medals at the national level.
