In a virtual meeting held Tuesday, Chairman and Managing Director N. Balaram emphasized the importance of developing a deep understanding of the company’s financial status, future plans, and business strategies among the 762 managers and deputy managers.

Balaram highlighted the urgency of reducing coal production costs to remain competitive, citing the current high price of Singareni coal compared to alternatives. He urged younger officers to strive for a ₹1,000 per tonne reduction.

To maintain production levels amidst mine closures, SCCL is expanding operations to new coal blocks, including Naini in Odisha, aiming to achieve a 76 million-tonne target this year.
