Tue May 20 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Kettering Health System Hit by Cyberattack, Procedures Canceled
**DAYTON, OH -** Kettering Health, a major hospital network serving the Miami Valley, is grappling with a systemwide technology outage following a cybersecurity incident. The health network confirmed the outage stemmed from unauthorized access to their network in a statement released on their website.
“We have taken steps to contain and mitigate this activity and are actively investigating and monitoring the situation,” the statement read.
As a result of the disruption, all elective inpatient and outpatient procedures at Kettering Health facilities have been canceled for Tuesday and will be rescheduled. The network’s call center is also affected and may be temporarily unavailable.
“At this time, only elective procedures are being rescheduled. Our emergency rooms and clinics are open and continuing to see patients,” Kettering Health assured the public.
First responders have been advised to reroute patients to other hospitals in the area. The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) acknowledged the incident, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and collaboration in the face of such threats.
“Technology threats are an unfortunate reality in today’s world, but our region’s hospitals remain steadfast in their commitment to delivering safe, reliable, high-quality care,” GDAHA stated. “Our hospitals train continuously for events like this, integrating technology security into their emergency preparedness planning.”
Kettering Health leadership is working with multiple teams to restore services quickly and securely and promised to update the community as new information emerges. The health network maintains they have procedures and plans in place for these types of situations and will continue to provide safe, high-quality care for patients currently in their facilities.
