Wed May 21 07:10:00 UTC 2025: **Google Unveils Veo 3, AI Video Generator with Integrated Audio, and New AI Tools**
Mountain View, CA – Google announced a suite of new AI tools on Tuesday, including Veo 3, its latest video generator with a key differentiator: the ability to incorporate audio into its creations. This feature allows for realistic dialogue and sound effects, pitting it against competitors like OpenAI’s Sora.
According to Eli Collins, Google DeepMind product vice president, Veo 3 is capable of accurately rendering real-world physics and lip-syncing, all from text and image prompts. Veo 3 is immediately available to U.S. subscribers of Google’s new $249.99 per month Ultra subscription plan and through Google’s Vertex AI enterprise platform.
Beyond Veo 3, Google also unveiled Imagen 4, an improved image-generation tool, and Flow, a filmmaking tool enabling users to create cinematic videos by describing specific locations, shots, and styles. Flow is accessible through Gemini, Whisk, Vertex AI, and Workspace.
These releases come as generative AI for imagery and video is gaining popularity. The demand has even strained resources, as evidenced by OpenAI’s temporary limitations on ChatGPT’s 4o image generator due to overheating computing chips.
This is not Google’s first foray into AI image generation. The company had a misstep last year with Imagen 3, prompting a relaunch after inaccurate historical representations.
In addition to new tools, Google also updated Veo 2, allowing users to add or remove objects from videos with text prompts. Lyria 2, its music-generation model, is now available to creators through YouTube Shorts and to businesses using Vertex AI.
