**Lucknow, India -** Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi has been suspended for one match by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council due to repeated breaches of the league’s Code of Conduct. The suspension follows a series of incidents, including overly enthusiastic celebrations and a heated altercation with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma during Monday’s match.

This marks Rathi’s third Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season, resulting in a 50% match fee fine and the accumulation of five demerit points, triggering the one-match suspension. Previously, he received demerit points for incidents against Punjab Kings on April 1st and Mumbai Indians on April 4th.

Rathi will miss LSG’s upcoming game against the Gujarat Titans on May 22nd in Ahmedabad.

Abhishek Sharma was also penalized for his role in the altercation. He received a fine of 25 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct, as well as one demerit point.
