**Shivamogga, May 20, 2025** – Hundreds of residents braved heavy rains in Shivamogga today to participate in a “Tiranga Yatra” organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to celebrate the success of “Operation Sindoor,” a military operation reportedly conducted in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
The yatra, which began at Ramanna Shetty Park, saw enthusiastic participation from women, college students, BJP leaders, and supporters, all carrying the Indian tricolor and chanting slogans in praise of the soldiers involved.
Lok Sabha member B.Y. Raghavendra, addressing the crowd at Gopi Circle, credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the decisive response to the Pahalgam attack. He stated that “Operation Sindoor” had sent a strong message to Pakistan. He also criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for what he described as opposition to the military action. Legislators S.N. Channabasappa, D.S. Arun, Dr. Dhananjay Sarji, and district BJP president Jagadish also participated in the event.
