Mon May 19 14:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Bangladesh Clinch Thrilling Victory Over UAE in First T20I

**Dubai, UAE -** Bangladesh secured a hard-fought 27-run victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first of their two-match T20I series. After a dominant batting display early in the chase, the UAE faltered under pressure, handing the advantage back to Bangladesh who capitalized with disciplined bowling in the final overs.

Bangladesh’s Parvez Emon was the star of the show, smashing a maiden international T20I century to propel his team to a competitive total. While Litton Das praised the batting-friendly wicket and Emon’s performance, he acknowledged the slow scoring in the final overs of the innings.

UAE, in response, started strong with Muhammad Waseem leading the charge with a majestic half-century. However, a collapse triggered by a poor shot from Rahul Chopra after a blistering cameo from Asif Khan, coupled with tight bowling from Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Hasan, derailed their chase.

“We were winning the game, but we lost wickets in the middle,” conceded a disappointed Waseem after the match, adding that they conceded “20-25 runs extra” with the ball.

Despite the loss, Waseem expressed happiness for the youngsters in the team and hoped for a strong comeback in the next game. Meanwhile, Player of the Match Parvez Emon expressed his delight at his century, vowing to continue his best efforts in the next match.

The victory puts Bangladesh 1-0 up in the series. A key question now looms over whether Mustafizur Rahman will still depart for his scheduled IPL stint, given the closeness of the match. Bangladesh will be elated with their fightback, while the UAE will look to learn from their mistakes and bounce back in the next encounter.

The final UAE wicket fell to Mahedi Hasan, who finished with figures of 1/53.
