**New Delhi** – In his first address to the nation following a ceasefire with Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail. While confirming a temporary halt to “Operation Sindoor,” a military operation targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, Modi emphasized that the future course of action depends entirely on Pakistan’s behavior.
Modi asserted that India maintains a close watch on Pakistan’s actions and reiterated his stance that “terror and talk cannot go together; terror and trade cannot go together; and water and blood also cannot flow together.”
The Prime Minister lauded the Indian armed forces, claiming that Operation Sindoor inflicted “unimaginable damage” on Pakistan over three days, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists and the destruction of terrorist training camps in Bahawalpur and Muridke. He highlighted the precision of India’s missile and drone strikes, including the targeting of a Pakistani airbase. Modi stated that Pakistan’s subsequent pleas for peace demonstrated the effectiveness of India’s response.
He characterized the operation as a necessary response to the brutal killing of Indian civilians on April 22nd, emphasizing that the attacks were religiously motivated. While claiming that India has merely postponed further military action, Modi made it clear that future engagement with Pakistan would solely focus on the issues of terrorism and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
Modi concluded by stressing that the path to peace requires strength, and that India’s display of military capability has shown the world the true face of Pakistan. He warned that Pakistan must eradicate terrorism for its own survival, suggesting that unchecked terrorism will ultimately consume the country.
