**NEW DELHI –** North India’s plains, typically sweltering in May, have experienced an unusually cool start to the month thanks to strong winds and unexpected rainfall. This pleasant weather is expected to continue for at least another four days, according to the meteorological department.
A yellow alert has been issued for Tuesday, warning of winds reaching speeds of 30-50 kilometers per hour. The unseasonable weather means residents can expect relief from scorching heat for at least a week. Temperatures are forecast to remain between 33-35 degrees Celsius on May 7th, rising slightly to 35-37 degrees Celsius between May 8th and 10th.
The heavy rainfall on Friday, totaling 77.8 mm in a single day, has reportedly made up for the rainfall deficit of the past two to three months.
