Mon May 05 14:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Braces for Thunderstorms as Heatwave Eases
**Hyderabad, May 5, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for Telangana, warning of thunderstorms and gusty winds across multiple districts on Tuesday. An orange alert, signifying severe weather conditions, has been issued for seven districts: Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda. A yellow alert, indicating moderate weather disturbances, is in effect for eleven other districts including Hyderabad.
The unseasonal thunderstorms appear to have brought some relief from the recent heatwave. Temperatures have dropped by over 2°C since late April, with the highest temperature recorded on Sunday reaching only 42.5°C in Narayanpet. Urban areas have also seen a decrease in mercury levels.
