**Chennai, April 17, 2025** – A four-month-old baby boy died from suffocation in Rajamangalam on Tuesday, police reported. According to Rajamangalam police, the infant, son of Karthik and Priyanka of Sivasakthi Nagar Extension, was put to sleep after breastfeeding. When the parents checked on him hours later, they found him unresponsive.
Despite being rushed to Government Periyar Nagar Hospital, the baby was pronounced dead on arrival. A post-mortem examination at Kilpauk Government Hospital confirmed the cause of death as suffocation during breastfeeding. Rajamangalam police have launched an investigation into the incident.
