**KOCHI, April 17, 2025** – Actor Shine Tom Chacko and two others escaped a police raid at a Kochi hotel last night. The raid, conducted by the anti-narcotics squad (DANSAF) around 11 PM, followed allegations of misconduct and drug use on a film set.
While police found no narcotics in the room, Chacko and his companions fled from a third-floor room during the search. Reports suggest Chacko may have received prior warning of the raid.
The incident follows an accusation by actress Vincy Alucious, who filed a complaint with the Film Chamber and the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) alleging that Chacko behaved inappropriately towards her and used drugs on the set of the film “Soothravakyam.”
Film Chamber General Secretary Saji Nanthiatt has promised strong action against Chacko, while the actors’ association “AMMA” has also expressed its support for Alucious and vowed to take stern measures. Several prominent figures, including actress Ranjini, have publicly supported Alucious and commended her for coming forward. The investigation is ongoing.
