**Vijayawada, April 17, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has strongly condemned the seizure of National Herald properties and the filing of Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheets against Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. APCC president Y.S. Sharmila accused the BJP government of misusing central investigative agencies to target the opposition and suppress dissenting voices. She claimed the actions are a response to the Congress party’s growing popularity.
APCC vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji highlighted the extensive questioning of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi by the ED in 2022, contrasting it with the perceived inaction against other leaders facing corruption allegations. He cited the lack of action against figures like Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and others, while pointing to investigations against Gautam Adani in the US as a stark comparison. Shivaji alleged that this demonstrates the BJP’s double standards. The Congress leaders characterized the actions as politically motivated attempts to silence opposition leaders.
