**Vijayawada, April 17, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented the state’s innovative WhatsApp governance model to the 16th Finance Commission during their visit to the Velagapudi Secretariat on Wednesday. The model aims to deliver up to 1,000 public services via WhatsApp, eliminating the need for in-person office visits.

Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya praised Mr. Naidu’s detailed presentation on the state’s financial strategies and growth initiatives. He inquired whether the WhatsApp initiative had been shared with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to which Mr. Naidu responded that he plans to discuss it during a meeting next month.

Finance Commission member Anne George Mathew highlighted the remarkable development of Hyderabad over the past 30 years, attributing it to Mr. Naidu’s vision and expressing confidence in the similar development of Amaravati.

Mr. Naidu also discussed the Polavaram Project, aiming for completion before the upcoming Pushkarams, and lauded Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in transforming India into a rapidly growing economy, projected to become the world’s largest by 2047.
