**Erode, Tamil Nadu – April 12, 2025** – Four employees of a financial company have been arrested in connection with the suicide of a woman in Gobichettipalayam taluk. Police in Bungalowpudur arrested the manager, Satheesh (40), and three other employees: Meikeerthi (28), Venkatesh (30), and Sakthivel (32).
The accused are alleged to have harassed Hemapriya (38) and her husband Narayanasamy (45) over a defaulted ₹10 lakh loan secured against their house. The employees reportedly confronted Hemapriya at her home, marking the house with graffiti indicating the mortgage and unpaid dues. Overwhelmed by the incident, Hemapriya attempted suicide on April 2nd and succumbed to her injuries at the Government Erode Medical College Hospital in Perundurai.
Following a complaint by relatives, police launched an investigation and apprehended the four employees who had gone into hiding. They were arrested at the Bannari check post and remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court. The police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against the four accused.
