**Ramgarh, Jharkhand, April 12, 2025** – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar today reaffirmed the security and tamper-proof nature of India’s Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Addressing media in Ramgarh district, Mr. Kumar emphasized that the EVMs are incapable of internet, Bluetooth, or infrared connectivity, making tampering impossible. He cited the counting of over five crore VVPAT (voter-verifiable paper audit trail) slips without any discrepancies reported as further evidence of the system’s integrity.
Mr. Kumar, currently on a three-day visit to Jharkhand, interacted with election officials and expressed confidence in the state’s democratic foundation. He highlighted the near-complete satisfaction with the voter list, stating that no appeals regarding EPIC cards are pending. He also urged all eligible Indian citizens to register as electors.
