Sat Apr 12 12:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Shanxi Governor Jin Xiangjun Under Investigation for Serious Disciplinary Violations
**Taiyuan, Shanxi Province** – Jin Xiangjun, the Governor of Shanxi Province and a member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is under investigation for serious disciplinary violations and suspected illegal activities, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Supervisory Commission announced on April 12th.
The CCDI and the National Supervisory Commission will conduct a disciplinary review and supervisory investigation into Jin’s conduct.
Jin, 59, held a number of prominent positions throughout his career, including time spent in Sichuan, Hainan, Guangxi, and Tianjin before assuming his current role in December 2022. His career included roles in government administration, economic development, and party leadership. He most recently chaired a Shanxi Provincial Government standing committee meeting on April 10th. His absence from a meeting on extreme weather safety prevention on April 11th has been noted.
