Tue Apr 08 07:10:00 UTC 2025: ## ITVX Breaks Streaming Record with Over 1 Billion Streams in a Single Quarter
**London, UK** – ITVX, the UK’s streaming service, has announced a record-breaking first quarter, achieving over one billion streams for the first time in its history. The success is attributed to strong performances across multiple genres, including drama, entertainment, and sport.
Drama led the charge with over 300 million streams, fueled by the success of the “New Drama Sundays” strategy and returning favorites like *Unforgotten*, which is the biggest returning drama across all channels and platforms this year. New dramas *Playing Nice* and *Protection* also ranked among ITVX’s most-watched titles ever.
Entertainment contributed 133 million streams, a 22% increase year-on-year, boosted by popular Saturday night shows like *Britain’s Got Talent*, *The Masked Singer*, and *The 1% Club*. Soaps *Coronation Street* and *Emmerdale* also performed exceptionally well, generating 124 million streams and a 35% increase in Q1 2025 soap viewing compared to the previous year. The early morning availability of episodes on ITVX contributed to this growth.
Reality TV also played a significant role, with *Love Island All Stars* becoming ITVX’s biggest single title this year, exceeding 100 million streams. *Love Island* also topped the platform’s commissioned programs for the 16-34 demographic.
Major sporting events, including the England vs. France Six Nations match and the England vs. Scotland Calcutta Cup, both drew over six million viewers, contributing to ITVX’s overall success.
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, attributed the record-breaking quarter to the breadth and quality of ITVX’s programming across various genres. He praised the collaborative efforts of internal teams and external producers in delivering this success. All mentioned titles are currently available to stream on ITVX.
