Sat Apr 05 16:18:01 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Firm Faces Scrutiny After Alleged Employee Abuse Video Surfaces
**KOCHI, April 5, 2025** – A video depicting alleged ill-treatment of employees at a Kochi-based door-to-door marketing firm has sparked investigations by multiple agencies. The Kerala State Youth Welfare Board and the Kerala State Human Rights Commission have registered cases following the emergence of the footage, which purportedly shows employees being abused for failing to meet sales targets.
However, police sources in Perumbavoor suggest the video may be fabricated. Statements from current employees indicate the footage was filmed by a terminated employee and associates, who allegedly subjected new recruits to the abuse. The employees also claim the former workers were drug users.
While the youth allegedly shown being abused in the video has the option to file a complaint, he has not yet done so. The Labour Department is also conducting its own investigation. The Youth Welfare Board has requested a report from the Kochi City District Police Chief.
Minister for Labour V. Sivankutty condemned the alleged atrocities and ordered a probe by the district labour officer. Protests were held by DYFI and Youth Congress activists in response to the video. The incident continues to be under investigation.
