**Chennai, April 5, 2025** – Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi urged students to prioritize passion and skill development over solely focusing on marks at the 22nd edition of The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling Fair in Chennai on Saturday. He stressed the shared responsibility of parents and teachers in identifying and nurturing each student’s unique talent, cautioning against comparing children to one another.

The Minister highlighted the changing career landscape, noting a shift from traditional career paths to a more diverse range of opportunities. He encouraged students to leverage the career fair to make informed choices about their future, emphasizing the importance of pursuing fields that genuinely interest them. He also cited the success of the state government’s Naan Mudhalavan scheme, which has provided training to 41 lakh students and employment to over 1 lakh.

Several other speakers echoed the Minister’s sentiments. T. Thyagarajan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of VIT Chennai, praised the fair as a unique platform bringing together stakeholders from various sectors. Other speakers from Rajalakshmi College of Engineering and Hindustan Group of Institutions similarly advised students to focus on their strengths, cultivate skills, and maintain consistent effort.
