**HONG KONG –** Riot Games today officially revealed its highly anticipated League of Legends trading card game (TCG), previously known as Project K, under the name Riftbound. The announcement, made via a video on Riftbound’s X account, showcased key features and a planned release timeline.
Game Director Dave Guskin and Executive Producer Chengran Chai highlighted significant updates based on community feedback and playtesting. Riftbound will offer diverse gameplay options, including 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all matches.
The initial set, “Origins,” boasts over 300 cards featuring popular League of Legends characters like Jinx, Viktor, Lee Sin, and Yasuo, categorized as Unit, Spell, and Legend cards. Select Legend cards will also include secret rare versions with unique artwork. A beginner-friendly “Proving Grounds” collection will also be available.
Following refinements to artwork and user interface, Riftbound is slated for a Summer 2025 launch in China, with a subsequent rollout in other English-speaking countries later that year, and further expansion in 2026. The game will be showcased at upcoming Riot and tabletop gaming events.
Riot Games has partnered with UVS Games, a veteran tabletop game publisher with over 17 years of experience, to facilitate Riftbound’s global release. More information will be available on Riftbound’s new website and social media channels.
