**Hyderabad, April 5, 2025** – Hyderabad police have cracked down on an organized cricket betting ring operating during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Three individuals were arrested and ₹1.32 lakh in cash, along with three mobile phones, were seized.
The arrests were made by the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, and Narayanguda Police. The main bookie, identified as 41-year-old Guruvinder Singh Saluja (alias Gourav), was apprehended along with a sub-bookie, Sardar Jasvinder Singh (alias Jessy or Likki), and a punter, 28-year-old Koppula Karthik.
Investigations revealed the group used online platforms, obtaining user IDs from larger bookies based in Nanded, Maharashtra, and Kachiguda, Hyderabad. They provided login credentials to punters in exchange for a commission, facilitating bets on IPL matches in violation of gambling laws. The accused allegedly lured punters with access to the online betting platform. The investigation continues.
