BENGALURU, April 5, 2025 – A new brewery and restaurant, Brau Galie, has opened its doors in Bengaluru’s bustling Koramangala 5th block. Located in a four-story building, the establishment boasts a chic interior, airy rooftop seating, and a unique feature: glass vats showcasing the brewing process.
Brau Galie offers six beers, three traditional German styles and three incorporating local and seasonal ingredients. The menu is diverse, ranging from Indian and Italian to Asian and American cuisine. A standout feature is the in-house pastry kitchen, creating desserts such as a haleem tart (a unique combination of spiced meat and a crumbly tart shell) and a decadent Belgian chocolate cake. The restaurant also offers smaller portions of biryani, allowing patrons to sample more dishes.
A reviewer praised the Munich lager and Kobold Hefeweizen (both light and summery), but found the raspberry beer with Himalayan salt less successful. Other recommended beers include the IPA and Belgian wit. The Andhra-style biryani, served with interesting sides (horse gram chutney, gongura pickle, chilli oil), was a highlight, although raita was missed. The saffron tres leches cake with Mysore pak crumble and mango ice cream was also a favourite.
While its location at the end of a busy road might pose a challenge, the quality food and unique beers are expected to attract a significant clientele. The average cost for two is ₹1,500. For reservations, contact 9800829900.
