Fri Apr 04 05:09:24 UTC 2025: ## YouTuber Arrested for Illegal Visit to Isolated Tribe’s Island

**Port Blair, India** – A 24-year-old American YouTuber, Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, known for his extreme thrill-seeking videos, has been arrested for illegally entering the restricted waters surrounding North Sentinel Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The island is home to the Sentinelese, an indigenous tribe with a history of extreme hostility towards outsiders and strict isolation from the outside world.

Polyakov, who traveled for nine hours to reach the island, violated a strict five-kilometer exclusion zone implemented to protect the Sentinelese from disease and preserve their unique way of life. He attempted to contact the tribe by blowing a whistle and leaving a can of Diet Coke and a coconut as a supposed offering. The YouTuber documented his actions, exclaiming in a recovered video, “I have landed here. I am a solo traveler. No one has landed here before. This is anti-climactic. No one has done this before.”

Police recovered the video along with evidence that Polyakov had attempted a similar visit in October 2024, which was thwarted by hotel staff. Previous attempts to contact the Sentinelese have resulted in the deaths of those who made contact, most notably American missionary John Allen Chau.

This incident is not Polyakov’s first brush with controversy. He has previously filmed himself visiting the Jarawa tribe on Baratang Island and interacting with Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, posing with their weapons. His actions have sparked outrage and highlight the significant risks associated with ignoring the protection measures put in place for vulnerable indigenous communities. Polyakov is currently facing charges related to illegal entry and endangering the Sentinelese tribe.
