**Chennai, March 28, 2025** – S. Ramadorai, former CEO and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was awarded the prestigious Sankara Ratna Award 2024 by Sankara Nethralaya, a leading ophthalmic care institution. The award recognizes Ramadorai’s significant contributions to nation-building, particularly in the IT sector.

The award ceremony, held in Chennai, saw Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, present the award. Mr. Rajan also felicitated industrialist Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti. In his acceptance speech, Ramadorai highlighted the long-standing relationship between the Tata Group and Sankara Nethralaya, emphasizing Jamshedji Tata’s philosophy of community as the core purpose of business. He recalled the instrumental role of Nani Palkhivala in establishing Sankara Nethralaya and TCS’s early involvement in hospital management systems.
