**Thiruvananthapuram, March 21, 2025** – Over 2.6 million students in Kerala will receive an additional 4 kilograms of rice each before the upcoming April school holidays, according to General Education Minister V. Sivankutty. The initiative, benefiting students from pre-primary to Class VIII enrolled in the midday meal scheme, will utilize 17,417 tonnes of rice currently held by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco). Supplyco will directly transport the rice to schools. The distribution is authorized by a newly issued order to the Director of General Education.
