**Hyderabad, March 16, 2025** – A scorching heatwave continues to grip Telangana, with 22 of the state’s 33 districts experiencing temperatures exceeding 40°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts, warning of continued high temperatures.

Asifabad recorded the highest temperature at 42.4°C, making it the state’s hottest location. Other districts also saw significantly high temperatures, including Neradigonda (41.5°C), Mandamarri (41.5°C), and Veernapalle (41.5°C). Fourteen additional districts reported temperatures between 40°C and 41°C. Even Hyderabad felt the heat, with Asif Nagar and Keesara reaching 39.6°C.

The Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) confirmed the widespread high temperatures. The IMD’s yellow alert remains in effect for Sunday, March 16th, urging residents to take precautions against the extreme heat.
