Thu Mar 13 14:22:32 UTC 2025: **Dharmapuri District Unveils ₹17,457 Crore Credit Plan for 2025-26**

DHARMAPURI, March 13, 2025 – The Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu has launched a Potential-Linked Credit Plan (PLP) projecting ₹17,457.49 crore in credit for the 2025-26 financial year. The plan, prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), was released by District Collector R. Sadheesh on Thursday.

The agriculture sector is the biggest beneficiary, with an allocated ₹12,801.85 crore, including ₹12,381.95 crore for farm credit. This reflects a significant push towards farm mechanization, micro-irrigation, and animal husbandry. The MSME sector also receives a substantial boost with an estimated credit outflow of ₹2,483.36 crore, aligning with recent government initiatives.

S. Sheba Sangeetha, AGM, NABARD, highlighted that the PLP projection surpasses the previous year’s Annual Credit Plan target by 10.1%, reflecting national priorities to increase lending across various sectors. S Ramajayam, Lead District Manager, emphasized the PLP’s role in finalizing the district’s Annual Credit Plan and announced the circulation of a detailed background paper to banks.

Collector Sadheesh urged banks to prioritize medium and long-term agricultural credit and also focus on education, housing, and renewable energy for holistic district development. Banks will now prepare their branch-level credit plans to contribute to the final Block and District Credit Plans for 2025-26.
