**Dausa, Rajasthan –** A 25-year-old man was strangled to death in Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Wednesday evening after refusing to allow three men to apply Holi colours to him, police reported Thursday. Hansraj, who was preparing for competitive exams at a local library in Ralwas village, was attacked by Ashok, Bablu, and Kaluram when they attempted to smear him with colour. Upon his refusal, the trio allegedly beat him with belts and kicked him before one of them strangled him.
Following the incident, angry family members and villagers staged a protest, blocking a national highway and demanding ₹50 lakh in compensation, a government job for a family member, and the immediate arrest of the three accused. The protest lasted until 1 am Thursday, before police assurances led to the removal of the body and the clearing of the highway. Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Agarwal confirmed the details of the incident and the ongoing investigation.
